Maryville City Council continues contract with Nodaway County Economic Development

The Maryville city council met last night. One of the items discussed was an ordinace to execute a contract for membership and economic development services with Nodway County Economic Development. City Manager Greg McDanel says this program helps with economic assistance within the community.

"The city of Maryville contracts on an annual basis with Nodaway County Economic Development for economic development assistance.  We've had a great partnership through this contract with Josh McKim and his staff over at Nodaway County Economic Development (NCED) to really fascilitate economic development through the communicty.  We worked on projects such Kawasaki expansion, as well as Boulders Inn & Suites, Conference Center financing and simply retention and recruitment of business in our community.  They do a great job helping us in that process."

McDanel adds this program will help to serve the community with finances.

"The city of Maryville contributes $64,500 through this contract to NCED, again really to serve as economic development for the city in conjuction with city staff."
