Livingston County absentee votes lower than most counties

Many counties across the state of Missouri are reporting an increase in absentee voters in this year's general election.
Livingston County, however is not seeing the same increase. Livingston County Clerk and Election Authority Sherry Parks says this year's absentee turnout is larger than in years past but not by a significant amount.

"I probably do not see a huge increase simply because in Livingston County we do not have any local races which is highly unusual.  We may have more than we had four years ago but not a huge increase like I know some of my fellow clerks are having."

Parks adds she expects voter turnout to be about 50%. The general election takes place Tuesday, November 6th.
