Historical Society to hold luncheon this Saturday

The Nodaway County Historical Society Museum in Maryville holds their annual Fall Festival fundraiser luncheon at the Museum on Saturday. Creator of the Nodaway County Historical Society Tom Carneal says this event will involve a lunch that will help benefit the Historical Society.

"We're having our annual fall festival which is bean soup, Texas chili, pickles, cornbread, and a good dessert.  This is to raise, this is all donated.  The food is donated; the time is donated.  For $10, people can have all they want to eat and help us keep the bills paid."

Carneal says visitors are welcome to look around the museum during the luncheon.

"We do have exhibits up at all times, and people can visit throughout the museum.  However, we're getting ready for the Smithsonian exhibit which opens the next weekend, so a lot of our exhibits are kind of closed down right now while we get ready for the Smithsonian exhibit.  But they are welcome to walk around the building and of course, we have our library in the basement, and it's open.  And if people want to come do any research on that day, we can provide help for them."

The Nodaway County Historical Society Luncheon will take place Saturday from 11 to 1 pm.
