Cultural heritage workshop to take place October 18th in Chillicothe

The Missouri Humanities Council, in partnership with the Livingston County Library, is inviting all interested in attending a Cultural Heritage Workshop to learn how heritage and cultural can benefit your community from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, October 18 at the Livingston County Library. Director of Heritage Programs for Missouri Humanities Council, Caitlin Yager, says the goal of the workshop is to help people understand their heritage.

"These particular workshops are more based on focusing on that area of heritage and culture and what makes them unique.  So we like to bring in all different kinds of presenters.  We will bring in some that are more local to give them a perspective they can relate to.  But we'll also bring in specialists from universities or personal contacts that we know are specialized in that field on all different kinds of topics that will help them.  So we do anything from marketing tactics, social media tactics to help bolster audience, grant writing tips, defining what cultural heritage is and how they can identify what their community cultural heritage is."
