Councils approves construction of Grade Control Device for Peach Creek

The Maryville City Council passed an ordinance to execute a contract with White Cloud Engineering and Construction Company for a Grade Control Structure in Peach Creek at its meeting last night. Maryville City Manager Greg McDanel says the project stems from a permit the city obtained from the Army Corps of Engineers in September.

"The permit requires us to build a Grade Control Structure in Peach Creek - is a device - a particular substantial device that kind of slows down the channel for the environment in the area.  We approved a contract tonight in the amount of $66,666 for construction of that Grade Control Structure is approved by permit."

McDanel adds the city has 90 days to complete the project.
