Chillicothe Shop with a Cop program could use funding

Chillicothe law enforcement personnel will again this year take part in a popular program to help children during the Christmas holiday. Chillicothe Police Department Sergeant Jeremy Stephens says officers look forward each year to taking part in the Shop with a Cop program.

"Last year we had approximately 70 children that we took shopping for their parents, siblings or even themselves that otherwise they would not be able to do.  They just have an overall great time.  They interact with kids and the officers, and just everybody has a great time."

The Shop with a Cop program in Chillicothe is sponsored by the Chillicothe Police Department and Kiwanis Club of Chillicothe.  Anyone wanting to help fund the Shop with a Cop program is urged to contact any member of the Chillicothe Police Department or Kiwanis Club.
