11th home by Habitat for Humanity being dedicated November 18th

Habitat for Humanity of Nodaway County will celebrate the completion of its 11th home and its new owners during a dedication ceremony Sunday, November 18th. The new home is located at 416 S. Vine in Maryville.  President of Habitat for Humanity, Michael Baumgartner says Habitat helps provide housing for those in need.

"Habitat for Humanity is a faith-based organization that has been around for a number of decades, since 2004 in Nodaway County her in Maryville.  This year our home will be our 11th house that we've built in that time period."

Baumgartner says there are several ways area residents can help fund the local Habitat for Humanity organization.

"Go to our website, or you can call me here at St.Francis hospital and I can connect you.  We're always looking for donations.  These homes obviously do cost a dollar, mainly for the materials.  A lot of it (but not all of it) is built with volunteer labor, but it's a combination of of building materials and some of the more technical work like plumbing and electrical that we pay for.  It does take dollars and your donations or your time is always greatly appreciated."
