Troop H to host Community Alliance Program

The Missouri State Highway Patrol will be conducting a Community Alliance Program at the Troop H headquarters beginning Tuesday, September 18th.

This program is designed for the public to learn more about the patrol's purpose and roles within the law enforcement community. Sergeant Jake Angle says this is a great opportunity for citizens to learn more about the highway patrol.

"They come in, they get to learn all about the highway patrol from an inside perspective, do some hands-on stuff, firearms," Angle said. "We're going to do some stop and approach where we simulate a traffic stop. It's just going to be a really overall good hands-on interaction for the public to participate in."

Angle adds that it'll be a behind-the-scenes view with a limited number of spots available.

"If it's something you'd be interested in, it's going to be an opportunity for 20 people to get a look at the patrol that most people won't get the opportunity to participate in. I just encourage people if you think you're interested at all to give it a try."

You must be 21 or older to register.

The program will be 6pm to 9:30pm on Tuesday evenings starting September 18th for five consecutive weeks. The deadline to register is August 31st. For more information or to register, contact Sergeant Jake Angle at 816-387-2344.
