Gas prices in MO over Labor Day

Summer gas prices are at the highest we've seen since 2014 on average and that is expected to continue over the Labor Day weekend.
According to GasBuddy, the average gas price over Labor Day Weekend is expected to be around $2.84 per gallon. Head of Petroleum Analysis at GasBuddy, Patrick DeHaan, says despite the increase, Missouri remains one of the states with lower gas prices.

"Seeing average prices in the 250-260s, I would expect that over Labor Day those prices may incch lower ever so slightly.  Some of the cheapest gas in the country stil in Missouri thanks to low gasoline taxes.  So make sure that if you're heading out of the area to fill your tank before you leave Missouri.  But overall, not too bad of a Labor Day with prices in most areas in the mid $2 range."

The current average price in Missouri is about $2.57 per gallon, which is 16 cents less than the national average of $2.73 per gallon.
