Barnard pair arrested in drug bust

Authorities apprehended two Barnard, Missouri residents earlier this week. The two are charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, as well as being felons in possession of firearms. Nodaway County Sheriff Randy Strong says the arrest started as a complaint.

"We had started the case when officers went to the residence of Shane Culp and Pam Culp on a complaint, and during that there was evidence found that led to their arrest and subsequent search warrant being served on the house."

Soon after, a DEA agent working closely with the Buchanan County Drug Strike Force contacted the sheriff's office.

"He had an interest in those two individuals," Sheriff Strong said. "We spoke with Mr. Rice, our prosecutor, and at that point that became a DEA case they were interested in. We were told on the 21st that those warrants were in place to pick those individuals up."

Shane Culp was taken into custody Tuesday evening. After a day of avoiding arrest, Pam Culp gave herself up sometime Wednesday. The investigation was assisted by the Buchanan County Drug Strike Force, the DEA, and U.S. Marshal Mark James.
