Last week, Interim County Clerk for Daviess County Ronetta Burton was appointed by Governor Eric Greitens as full-time clerk. Burton had taken over as interim clerk when the former clerk resigned the position at the end of February. She had previously served as deputy clerk for the past five years. Burton says she loves all facets of the job.
Burton started her career as a teacher and began working with the County Clerk's office for a needed change of pace. She says her goals as county clerk include improving efficiency in the office.
Burton fully assumed the office expecting a relatively quick turnaround; she will be running to keep the seat for a full four-year term in November.
