News Brief

May 3, 2018MARYVILLE, Mo. |  By: Pinney

More severe weather predicted today

Last night was loud and windy at times, with several tornado warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings being issued throughout the KXCV/KRNW Listening Area.

In the city of Maryville, preliminary damage reports included a fallen tree on the campus of Northwest Missouri State University on University Drive in front of Hudson-Perrin Residence Hall. Meanwhile, damage reports from around the county were pouring in throughout the night.

Some of those reports included a tree down, Morton buildings blown over, a damaged fence near Ravenwood and power poles down and farm equipment tipped over near Graham.

Yesterday was only day two of a three-day storm system moving through the area, and National Weather Service meterologist Sarah Atkins says today will be another active day.

Atkins says today's storms will also be a bit earlier than yesterday. Atkins says the storms should push through the area by around 10.

Stay tuned to KXCV/KRNW for more information and alerts, including any issued watches and warnings, as they become available.
