Two Plattsburg residents seriously injured in two-car crash

Two Plattsburg residents were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on Missouri Route 6, 5 miles east of Gallatin yesterday afternoon.

According to a report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, a car driven by 26-year-old Ashley Waldron of Plattsburg was westbound when another car, driven by 49-year-old Angelina Aban Yor of Kirksville, traveling eastbound lost contol in the snow and crossed the center lane, striking Waldron's vehicle head on.

Both vehicles spun 180 degrees, leaving Aban Yor's vehicle in the westbound lane facing west, and Waldron's vehicle in the eastbound lane facing east. Waldron and 26-year-old passenger Matthew Morgan both sustained serious injuries, while 9-month old passenger Caden Morgan of Plattsburg sustained only minor injury. Aban Yor left the scene without injury. Matthew and Caden Morgan were both transported to Cameron Regional Medical center by Daviess County EMS. Waldron was transported to Liberty Hospital by Daviess County ambulance.

Waldron and Aban Yor were wearing seatbelts and Caden Morgan was secured in a child safety seat, but Matthew Morgan was not wearing a seatbelt. The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Daviess County Sheriff's Department.
