Tornado Watch in force -- stay weather aware

Northwestern Missouri may be in for its first severe thunderstorms of the season this afternoon.

As a storm system moves into the area, National Weather Service meterologist Mark Mitchell says there is a moderate chance of thunderstorms developing today.

Mitchell says this afternoon and early evening is the best chance for these storms to develop.

Mitchell says it's important to remain weather-aware and have multiple ways of receiving weather alerts.
