Severe weather possible over next few days

Northwestern Missouri experienced a dry and relatively quiet April, but May could start out with a meteorological bang.

The National Weather Service is tracking a potential severe weather setup for northwestern Missouri, northeastern Kansas and southeastern Nebraska that could begin as early as tomorrow. Meteorologist Spencer Mell says some storms will begin to form over Nebraska and Kansas tomorrow afternoon.

Mell says the tornado threat over northwestern Missouri tomorrow night is very low, as most of the threat exists west of the border, but it can't be completely ruled out just yet.

Tomorrow marks the beginning of a multi-day system, as the severe threat could extend as far as Thursday. Mell says the threat through the week will likely be affected by tomorrow's storms.
