The annual celebration is sponsored by the Student Senate, the Office of Student Involvement, and Student Employment, recognizing the winners of the annual BD Owens Library Research Contest, Student Organization and Leadership Awards, Tower Service Awards, and the awards for the top student employee and graduate assistants at the University.

This year's Student Employee of the Year was Amanda Herzberg, a junior chemistry major from Maryville who works as a Supplemental Instruction leader in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Other award winners of the night included the Cyber Defense Club - Outstanding Student Organization; Jacquie Lamer, Outstanding Organizational Advisor; AdInk co-presidents Shelby Simpson and Carter Herrman, Student Organization Presidents of the Year; and Anna Holden and Gina Bumgarner of Wellness Services won Graduate Assistant of the Year awards.
