Multiple law enforcement agencies end car chase in Livingston County

The Livingston County Sheriff's Office is praising several local agencies after a car chase crossed into Livingston County yesterday.

According to a release from the Sheriff, at around 10:16 p.m. Tuesday night, two deputies assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol with a vehicle pursuit on US route 36 which entered into Livingston County from Caldwell County traveling east.

The vehicle was averaging 50 miles per hour for most of the chase, running over spike strips deployed in Livingston County by the Patrol and Sheriff's Office.

The vehicle came to a stop east of Chillicothe and a male occupant fled on foot with several officers in pursuit. Due to the number of officers, K-9 Zaki was not deployed, but the officers did catch up and apprehend the suspect. It was later determined that he had an active arrest warrant in Jackson County.

Additional investigation is still ongoing into the incident. Chillicothe Police were also involved in the chase.
