Special Olympics Polar Plunge to be held in St. Joseph

Special Olympics Missouri is looking for participants for its 12th annual Polar Plunge which will be held in St. Joseph on Saturday, Feb. 17. Development Director with Special Olympics Melody Prawitz says there are several ways to take part in the event.

The St. Joseph Police Department and Maryville Treatment Center help sponsor the event which will be held at the East Hills Mall. One hundred percent of the proceeds support Special Olympics Missouri's year-round sports training and athletic competition. Prawitz says that the event will be fun for all ages.

Participants must raise a minimum of $75, be 10 years or older, and register by calling 816-233-6232 or by visiting somo.org/plunge.
