Another scam is targeting Chillicothe residents.
According to the Chillicothe Police Department, the scammer has a Middle Eastern accent and is claiming to be with Chillicothe Municipal Utilities. They are threatening to turn off services unless a payment is made by check or debit or credit card.
Chillicothe Police have spoken with CMU representatives who state they don't collect in this manner or take payment over the phone. The Chillicothe Police Department urges people to hang up if they receive this call.
