Northwest students organize wheelchair basketball game

Two Northwest Missouri State University students are organizing a wheelchair basketball game this weekend.

On Sunday at Bearcat Arena, Northwest is partnering with Midwest Adaptive Sports to put together a game between an organized team and a group from the University. Event organizer and former Northwest basketball player D'Vante Mosby says the game is all about having fun and raising awareness.

Mosby says Macy Williams, a junior guard for the Bearcat women's basketball team, came up with the idea, and that several groups from Northwest are taking part in the event from offering food to organizing the venue. Mosby says everyone is encouraged to attend because the group is an inspiration.

Tip-off is at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Bearcat Arena. The event is free and open to the public.
