Missouri agronomists caution herbicide applicators about state licensing requirements

The EPA approved new labeling for herbicides containing Dicamba in October of last year. Agronomists are urging growers to pay close attention to both the Federal label and the Missouri-specific 24c label.

Those who are certified applicators and growers are required to have a private pesticide applicator license. According to Regional Agronomist Specialist Wayne Flanary, every person applying the product must have a private pesticide applicator license rather than working under a growers license. Private applicator licenses from other states besides Missouri will not be accepted.

This training can be accessed online through the Missouri Department of Ag website or the University of Missouri Extensino website by searching for "Synthetic Auxin Herbicide Applicator Training Program." For more information, contact Regional Agronomists Wayne Flanary or Andy Luke.
