3-vehicle crash seriously injures 1 person

A three-vehicle accident in Andrew County resulted in one person seriously injured and six others receiving moderate to minor injuries.

According to a report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, on Sunday morning at around 11:52 a.m. all three vehicles were southbound on the ramp from I-29 to Business 71 near Country Club Village. Two pickups driven by 39-year-old Erin M. Dinsdale, Maryville, and 55-year-old Warren L. James, Bolckow, were stopped at a stop sign when an S.U.V. driven by 24-year-old Kenneth E. Duncan of Brookings, South Dakota struck the rear of the Dinsdale vehicle causing it to collide with the rear of the James pickup.

Duncan suffered serious injuries and 24-year-old Morgan R. Lanier, a passenger in his vehicle, received moderate injuries. Both were taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. The drivers and passengers in the other two pickups received minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.

The accident was investigated by the Missouri Highway Patrol and the Andrew County Sheriff's Office. Duncan was the only person involved who was not wearing a seatbelt.
