SSM Health clinics and St. Francis Hospital receive quality assurance recognition

The National Committee for Quality Assurance has announced that SSM Health Medical Group clinics of Maryville, Savannah, and Bedford, Iowa have received Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home recognition for 2017.
This is the first time SSM Health Medical Group has applied for the recognition, according to director of operations Andy Anderson. Andersen says SSM Health Medical Group is proud of everyone's efforts to earn the award.

There are three recognition levels, all based on the amount of points a nominee can receive. All three clinics and SSM Health St. Francis Hospital received Level 3 recognition, which is the highest level, by scoring at least in the high-80s on the survey. Clinic Decisions Report Analyst Susie Smith says the patient-centered care model SSM Health Medical Group uses relies heavily on physician collaboration.

The National Committee for Quality Assurance aligns its standards with the joint principles of the Patient-Centered Medical Home established with the American College of Physicians, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Osteopathic Association.
