Ridesharing comes to Maryville

Popular ridesharing applications UBER and Lyft are now operating in Maryville.

Last week, the Facebook page "UBER in Maryville, Missouri" was created by Racheal Stump of Hopkins to announce the presence of an UBER driver in the county. She says she wants to drive for UBER to make some extra money and that she has received a lot of traffic on social media.

UBER and Lyft services were delayed slightly as the City of Maryville figured out the appropriate regulations for ridesharing services. As of last Thursday, Stump and at least two other drivers have been operating in Maryville.

Stump says her initial interactions with riders have been very positive so far.
