Pop-up dog and cat adoption special in St. Joseph this afternoon

Due to overcrowding, the Friends of the Animal Shelter of St. Joseph, LLC., is hosting a half-off special for dogs and cats adopted this afternoon.

According to a release from the City of St. Joseph Health Department, the shelter has an abundance of residents which is prompting the pop-up special. Animal Control and Rescue Shelter Humane Educator Jenna Keyes says there are a number of ways to check out the dogs and cats are available. Keyes says adoption fees are necessary for the shelter and the health and safety of the pets.

The half-off adoption special runs today during normal business hours at the City of St. Joseph Health Department Animal Control and Rescue Shelter, 701 Lower Lake Road. The shelter is open from 1-4:30 p.m.
