Northwest responds to blood emergency, hosts drive today

Northwest Missouri State University is responding to a declared blood emergency by hosting a Blood Drive through this afternoon. The Northwest Student Senate is sponsoring the blood drive, according to Assistant Director of Donor Recruitment for the Community Blood Center Chelsea Tibbetts, because of a blood shortage which is common during winter months.

The blood drive takes place today from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Tower View Room of the JW Jones Student Union on the Northwest campus. People can also donate blood at any of the Community Blood Center's locations in Kansas City, Gladstone, Blue Springs, St. Joseph, Overland Park, or Topeka.
