Maryville Public Safety continues investigation into theft of ATM machine

Maryville Public Safety officers are continuing their investigation into last week's theft of an ATM machine at the Hy-Vee Convenience Store on South Main.

Maryville Public Safety Director Keith Wood says thieves stole a van from the United Methodist Church and used that vehicle to pull an ATM away from the store. The vehicle was later recovered in a residential section of the community and portions of the ATM machine were located near Gray's Truck Stop just north of the Maryville. Wood says the burglary was well-thought-out.

Wood urges anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity on Jan. 17 between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. near the 700 block of West Lincoln or at the parking lot of the United Methodist Church at 102 Main as well as the Hy-Vee Convenience Store at 1215 South Main to contact Public Safety at 660-562-3209.
