Governor appoints 4 new regents for Northwest Missouri State University

Governor Eric Greitens has announced four appointments to the Northwest Missouri State University Board of Regents.

Jason A. Klindt of Kansas City; George R. Speckman of St. Joseph; and Roxanna R. Swaney of Liberty were all appointed as full members of the Board of Regents. Northwest senior Janay R. Orange was nominated to fill the non-voting Student Regent position.

If confirmed, the Republican Klindt would fill the set of Gene "Francis" Dorrel, a Republican of Maryville and serve until January 1, 2023. Speckman, an Independent, woud fill the board seat of Jerry Genochio, a Democrat from Kansas City. His term would also end Jan. 1, 2023. Swaney and Orange are regaining their previous appointments to the Board, having been appointed in 2016 by former Governor Jay Nixon. The expiration date for Swaney's and Orange's terms have not currently been set.

Klindt, Speckman, and Swaney are all Northwest alumni. Dr. Patrick Harr of Maryville, Dr. Marilou Joyner of Kansas City, John W. Richmond of Albany, and Richard N. Smith of Coffey round out the board, which still has one open seat.
