Faller and Jennings classical guitar duo to perform in Maryville and St. Joseph

Two classical guitar students at the University of Missouri will be coming to northwestern Missouri next weekend.

The Faller and Jennings guitar duo, sponsored by the St. Joseph Music Foundation and the Missouri Music Hall of Fame, will perform shows in Maryville on Saturday, Feb. 3, and in St. Joseph on Friday, Feb. 2 and Sunday, Feb. 4. University of Missouri-Columbia Professor of Classical Guitar Anthony Glise says the two are graduate students at the university.

The shows will feature several solo and duo pieces from composers including Bach, Fernando Sor, and Sergio Assad. Glise says it will be a great opportunity to listen to a different kind of music than people in this area are normally used to hearing.

Faller and Jennings will play an informal promotional concert at 7:30 p.m., Friday at Unplugged, 2605 Frederick Avenue in St. Joseph. On Saturday the duo will play during the 5 p.m. mass at St. Gregory Catholic Church in Maryville, followed by a full concert at 6 p.m. And, on Sunday they will play during the 10:15 a.m. service at Wyatt Park Baptist Church in St. Joseph. They will also play a full concert at 6 p.m. at Wyatt Park Baptist Church that day.

All concerts are free and open to the public.
