Chillicothe drug investigation leads to arrests

Three people have been arrested in Chillicothe, Mo. as a result of an investigation into narcotics use in Livingston County. Chillicothe Police Detective Michael Smith says the investigation has been ongoing for quite some time.

64-year-old George William Kitchin was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute at his home. 25-year-old Austin Warren Estes and 39-year-old Maria Hoke Childs were also in the house. Childs was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, while Estes was cited for possession of marijuana and released.

Additionally, 28-year-old Travis Lee Donoho was arrested during a traffic stop and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Kitchin is being held on a $50,000 cash-only bond at the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail. Donoho is being held on a $10,000 cash-only bond and Childs is being held on a $5,000 cash-only bond. Detective Smith says the positive results of this warrant only highlight the work that still needs to be done in Livingston County.

In a release, the Chillicothe Police Department praised the Livingston County Prosecutor, the Livingston County Associate Judge, the Chillicothe EMS, and the Livingston County Sheriff's Department along with its K-9 unit for their assistance with the traffic stop and serving the search warrant.
