Bidding for Albany wastewater treatment plant project set for February

The Albany Board of Alderman met in regular session Tuesday night. At the top of the agenda was a discussion on the Albany Wastewater Treatment Plant project. Andy Macias and Emily Wicoff of the consulting firm Snyder and Associates met with the board to discuss the bidding and construction process. Albany City Administrator Derek Brown says the bidding will take place next month.

The plant will be paid for with money ascertained from a bond issue which passed in 2016 in addition to some loan and grant money. Brown says the timeline is a moving target, but that the city is aiming for completion in 2019.

The board also took action to revise the 2017-2018 Fiscal Year budget to repair the slide at the aquatic center. Brown says that project has been in the works for some time as well.
