Brownville, Neb. and General Education Courses

Jan Chism Wright, Ron Heskett, and Thomas Rudloff of Brownville, Neb. speak with President John Jasinski about the many amenities their home town has to offer. Steeped in history, Brownville is a charming place for a day trip or weekend getaway. Visitors can enjoy museums, a winery, book shops and a hike & bike trail. Accommodations include bed & breakfasts and motels.

In the second half of the program Dr. Michael Steiner, Dean of Northwest’s College of Arts & Sciences, spoke about the importance of general education for all university students. General education includes the study of languages, humanities, social and natural sciences, music, art, theatre, mathematics and information systems. These studies help students develop communication, higher order thinking and problem-solving skills.
