Smith, Harris and Fisher headline All-MIAA performers

Cahleel Smith earned 1st Team All-MIAA status for the 3rd year in a row

Sixteen Northwest Missouri State football players received All-MIAA recognition Tuesday morning.

The league's leading rusher, Jay Harris, spearheaded the Bearcats attack. The sophomore from St. Louis amassed 1,433 rushing yards to lead the MIAA. He was third in the league racking up 14 rushing touchdowns.

He was tabbed 1st Team All-MIAA along with teammates Jake Fisher and Cahleel Smith.

Fisher, a defensive end, was second in the conference with 12 and a half tackles-for-loss and third with six sacks.

Defensive back Cahleel Smith earned his third consecutive 1st Team All-MIAA nod. Smith finished with 28 tackles, four tackles-for-loss, and seven pass breakups.

Second-team performers include wide receiver Kashan Griffin, offensive lineman Derec Weyer, defensive lineman Kobe Clayborne, and linebacker Isaac Vollstedt.
