Arkansas-Fort Smith joining MIAA in 2024-25

The University of Arkansas-Fort Smith will make the leap to the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association beginning in the 2024-25 academic year.

Arkansas-Fort Smith's application for membership was approved by the MIAA CEO Council signaling the full membership to begin in the fall of 2024.

The move for the Lions will come as Lincoln University exits the conference in pursuit of the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Arkansas-Fort Smith will be the first full-time member of the league from the state of Arkansas. Harding, Ouachita Baptist, and Southern Arkansas all participate in a crossover league as associate members.

UAFS was established in 1928. It became a Division 2 school 2009, and has been a member of the Lone Star Conference since 2019.
