The forecast calls for dry and hot conditions this weekend

The last several days have brought more wet conditions to the region. National Weather Service Meteorologist, Al Pietrycha, says the recent weather is a continuation of the wet winter we had this year.

"We had a bad winter.  We had a lot of snow and ice.  That pattern has continued through the spring and here going into early summer."

Pietricha says the rest of the week should be dryer and warmer.

"We should be dry right into the weekend.  That's the good news, dry-wise.  The bad news, if you will, is that we are going to start to warm up.  Well, it's summer and it's going to start to feel that way with temperatures approaching into the 90s here by the weekend with the heat index in the upper 90s are quite possible Friday, Saturday, and Sunday."
