Sixteen year old drowns in 102 River

A 16-year-old Maryville girl died during a drowning accident yesterday afternoon on the 102 River approximately four miles west of Barnard.  According to a report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, Lindsey R. Allee was in the 102 River and entered an area of deep water around 2:20 p.m.  She was unable to swim.  Her body was recovered by the Clarinda, Iowa Dive Team around 4:20 and was pronounced dead at the scene by Nodaway County Coroner Vince Shelby.  Representatives from the Barnard Fire Department, Tri C Fire Department, Maryville Fire, Maryville Public Safety Mozingo Lake Water Officers, the Missouri Department of Conservation, Missouri Highway Patrol, Nodaway County Sheriff's Office and Nodaway County Ambulance responded to assist in the incident.
