Second Harvest fund drive exceeded expectations

The Second Harvest Community Food Bank recently hosted their Annual Fund Drive Wrap-up event. The organization started off their fundraising efforts in March with the goal of $630,000 for the food bank. Communications Coordinator Blake Haynes says they surpassed their goal and reached a total of $689,920 in donations.

"It's just an amazing event.  It's awesome to see the communities we serve understand what's going on and understand the needs within their communities respectfully.  And really stepping up to the plate and contributing to end hunger within their communities.  It's always awesome to see."

Some of the top corporations to donate to the annual fund were Tyson, National Savings Bank (NSB), and Feeding America. Haynes also encourages individuals to donate to the food bank as many people across 19 counties partricipated in the fundraising event for this year.
