Odessa resident seriously injured in accident

A Lafayette County resident is in serious condition after a two vehicle accident in Caldwell County on Missouri 116 at Brangus Road, 4 miles east of Interstate 35. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, 69-year-old Odessa resident, David Bannister, was eastbound in his pickup and 35-year-old Bates County resident, Emery Engelhardt, had stopped his tractor trailer in the eastbound lane. Due to dirt and debris raised by a third vehicle not involved in the crash, Bannister's sight was obstructed and ran into the rear of Engelhardt's tractor trailer. Bannister suffered serious injuries and was transported to Liberty Hospital by Tri-county Ambulance.
