Northwest Missouri State University athletic director Andy Peterson announced the addition of Troy Katen to the staff Friday morning.
Katen joins the university as deputy athletic director – external operations.
"I want to thank Andy Peterson for this opportunity to join the Bearcat family," Katen said in a release. "I'm looking forward to working with the coaching staff, alumni, and community to continue to make Northwest the best NCAA Division II athletic department in the country. My family and I are excited to get involved in the Maryville community."
Prior to coming to Northwest, Katen's served in many different roles in other athletic departments. Other stops in his career include the University of Saint Mary, Wentworth Military Academy and College, Peru State, Hastings College and Dakota Wesleyan University.
He received his undergraduate degree from Kansas Wesleyan University, where he lettered in football, baseball and basketball, and later earned his masters degree from Hastings College.
