Motorcyclist injured seriously north of Savannah

An Atchison County resident is in serious condition after a one vehicle accident yesterday that occurred on U.S. 71, 5 miles north of Savannah. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, 58-year-old Westboro resident, Jerry Kirkpatrick, was northbound on U.S. 71 when his motorcycle traveled off the west side of the road and began skidding. Kirkpatrick then overturned, struck the ground ejecting him from the motorcycle. Kirkpatrick was transported by Andrew County EMS to Mosaic Life Care of St. Joseph in serious condition.
