Maryville Public Safety building progressing

Work on the new Maryville Public Safety facility is progressing.  Maryville City Manager Greg McDanel says Maryville City officials recently opened bids for the construction of the structure.

"The bids were extremely competitive with seven bids ranging between 3.7 million and 4.5 million.  The City of Maryville is currently analyzing the two lowest bidders to take a recommendation to City Council on June 10th."

McDanel adds once that decision is made, he expects construction of the project to begin soon.

"I think we're going to have a solid recommendation to the City Council at the next meeting, which will allow us to be under construction.  Hopefully have a new building for our officers and fire service and dispatch here within the next year."
