17-year-old Stanberry resident dies in 2-vehicle accident

A Gentry County resident died in a two vehicle accident yesterday that occurred on Route O, 4 miles west of Gentry. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, 17-year-old Stanberry resident, Kameron Wallace, and 26-year-old Maryville resident, Jacobi Zimmerman, were both eastbound on Route O with Wallace towing a hay mower/conditioner in a John Deer Tractor. Zimmerman driving a dump truck attempted to overtake Wallace who at the same time moved into the center of the roadway to prevent the towed unit from traveling into a culvert. Zimmerman attempted to avoid Wallace's tractor causing Zimmerman to travel off the north side of the roadway and strike the tractor and towed unit in the rear. The towed unit disconnected from the tractor causing Wallace to overturn and roll off the north side of the roadway into a ditch coming to rest on its driver's side. Wallace was pronounced dead at the scene by Gentry County Coroner.
