Maryville Public Safety puts out special weather announcement

Maryville Public Safety has put out a special weather announcement: According to Maryville Public Safety, very strong and dangerous storms are probable for our area this afternoon. The timing of these storms looks to be between 3 – 5 p.m. It is possible that we could experience 75 mph winds, 2”+ diameter hail, 1.5 – 3” of rainfall, and EF2 or higher tornadoes. Please have a safety plan in place. Monitor the weather through a media, social media, cell phone apps, etc.


Make sure everyone in your household/office knows where you will shelter.
Stay away from windows.
Get to the lowest level of your home or office or to a windowless, interior room. Cover yourself with blankets, pillows, etc. Protect your head. Wear hard-soled shoes if possible

Maryville Public Safety says their goal is not to frighten the public, but to inform you of dangerous conditions that exist for our area this afternoon. Please be safe.
