Contractors attended prebid meeting for new facility

Interested construction contractors attended a prebid meeting yesterday for the new Maryville Public Safety facility. City Manager Greg McDanel says the contractors were able to learn specifics of the project from the city's architects.

"Consultants and architects WSK&F provied about an hour and half-two hour presentation of what was included in the bidding documents and what will be available for bid when it's opened May 23rd."

McDanel says after a slight delay, the project is moving forward.

"The project was delayed a little bit due to some design bid issues with some state statutes.  But we pushed through that process and designed a fantastic facility for our law enforcement and our firefighters.  And we look to be operational in about a year."

The new Maryville Public Safety facility will be located at the former site of the Washington Middle School at First and Vine Streets in Maryville.
