Standberry Board of Ed welcomes new board members

The Stanberry R-II Board of Education held their regular meeting Monday night. Superintendent of the Stanberry School District, Bob Heddinger, says the board reviewed several projects taking place in the district.

"We have a control access system being installed and security cameras being installed.  And those projects are moving along as expected.  In fact, we're ahead of schedule and pretty pleased with the work thus far.  We talked about some of the end-of-year school activities that will take place, graduation and our end-of-the-year luncheon to recognize staff members that will be retiring at the end of this year or moving on to other endeavors."

Heddinger adds that new board members were also sworn in at Monday's meeting.

"Mr. Joe Bremer is leaving us after 12 years of service and we're definitely going to miss Joe on the board but we do appreciate his commitment to the school and community over the past 12 years.  And we're welcoming Mrs. Stephanie Cameron as a newly-elected board member.  And then under re-organization, Marci Messner was elected as board president for the upcoming year and Brett Jennings was selected as the vice president."

Heddinger also adds the Stanberry board voted to approve MET as the health insurance provider for the 2019-2020 school year.  The board approved recommendations regarding lunchtime solutions, and they heard suggestions for handbook changes.
