Public invited to high tea on May 3rd

The St. Joseph Symphony Friends invites the public to celebrate the birth of the first baby of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, with a high tea at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. next Friday. President of the St. Joseph Symphony Friends group, Sharon Kosek, says they will have a wide selection of treats to celebrate the royal baby.

"Chef Ralph Filipelli is preparing a fabulous high tea.  We're having it at noon.  Because t's more convenient for folks to come at that time.  He's going to have everything from lemon curd scones to petite sandwiches, to smoked salmon and cranberry chicken salad, do all kinds of sweets including truffles, cupcakes and other delicious sweets as well as a wonderful selection of tea.  We certainly celebrate the event if folks would like to wear hats and gloves."

Kosek adds that a monetary gift will be given to the Noye Homes for Children in the Royals' baby's honor.

"Traditionally, when there's a major event like this, for the royal family, since they don't need gifts usually, they ask that you make a donation or contribution to an organization that would be close to their heart.  In this case, we decided on the Noyes Home for Children.  There are so many children, including babies,  that reside for either a short or a long period of time at the Noyes Home for Children here locally.  That's why we decided to contribute to them this year."

The high tea is open to the public. Prepaid reservations are required by Monday, either online at saintjosephsymphony.org or by calling the St. joseph Symphony office at 816-233-7701. Tickets can also be purchased at Jamie's Secret Garden at 811 North Woodbine Road. The high tea will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. next Friday, May 3rd at the Albrecht-Kemper Muserum of Art located at 2818 Frederick Avenue in St. Joseph.
