Multi-state resource centers have been set up to assist flood victims

The Missouri Attorney General's Office has joined with local and state agencies to help provide resources for those affected by the flood in Northwest Missouri. Attorney General Press Secretary, Chris Nuelle, says several multi-state resource centers have been set up to assist consumers.

"We'll have resources set up at these multi-state resource centers in Rock Port, St. Joseph, Mound City over the next three days to provide assistance to citizens who may have been affected by the flooding. Some of the questions that we can answer are how to pick a reputable contractor, tips to avoid price gouging, and other questions people may have in the wake of flooding."

Nuelle adds customers who have fallen victim to scams have a number of options.

"We urge you to go to our website ago.mo.gov or call our consumer protection hotline at 1-800-392-8222 and we can answer questions, take down the complaint, and inform you on next steps."

The St. Joseph resource center will open today (Tuesday) and is located at the Keys Christian Church Gymnasium at 6001 South 9th Street. The Mound City location will be open on Wednesday and is located at the Mound City R-2 Multipurpose Room at 708 Nebraska Street. Both centers will be open from noon to 7 p.m.
