Big Bad Voodoo Daddy returns to Missouri Theater

The St. Joseph Performing Arts Association is bringing back a popular act next month.
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy returns to the Missouri Theatre in St. Joseph Wednesday May 1st at 7:30 p.m. This will be the third time the band has performed at the Missouri Theatre. Executive Director of the St. Joseph Performing Arts Association, Beth Sharp, says the band asked if they could come back and perform in St. Joseph and the Performing Arts Association is proud of that.

"I think that's a great compliment for the area.  And you know, that is one thing, a lot of our traveling performers that come through, they always say we have a great audience.  And we really do.  It seems our audience knows when to react to the performers, when to clap and when to stand.  Of course, you know, the performers feed off that excitement and we're just hoping the magic happens again."

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy performed at the Missouri Theatre in 2013 and 2016 and Sharp says, for those who may not have seen the band the first two times, expect an energetic evening.

"Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is a very high energy swing band.  This time through they are promoting their latest album.  It's called "Louie Louie Louie."  They are truly a great band.  They'll play jazz, swing, dixie-land and again, they have a lot of energy."

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy performs at the Missouri Theatre in St. Joseph May 1st beginning at 7:30 p.m.  For tickets or more information, call the performing arts office at 816-279-1225, visit them online at saintjosephperformingarts.org or in person at the office at 719 Edmond Street.
