Bearcat arena sold out for session 2 of the NCAA tournament

Northwest Missouri State University will play host to the NCAA Division 2 Central Region Tournament starting Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats start the second session with a 6pm game against Minnesota State, and fans did not waste anytime purchasing their tickets.

Northwest Athletic Director Andy Peterson said Friday morning that tickets for Saturday's second session are sold out.

This is the third year in a row that Northwest has hosted the central region, and Peterson said that each year is different, but they have a good grasp on what to expect.

"We learned a lot from year one and having an arena with 2,200 seats and the capabilities that we have," Peterson said. "And the requirements we have by the NCAA holding tickets for the visiting team and the two teams that are playing the second game of the session. But also things like the band, cheer, steppers. There's a lot of different things that go into it. I think we've got it at least kind of figured out and moving in the right direction."

Peterson also said once fans begin to clear out and seats become available in Bearcat Arena for the late game in session two between St. Cloud State and Southern Nazarene, they will be able to begin selling tickets again.
