Use tax to be on April ballot

The Maryville City Council discussed continuing to pursue a use tax for the city at its meeting last night.
Maryville City Manager Greg McDanel says the use tax is a continuing issue and the council is leaning toward placing it on the April Ballot.

"The city council this evening discussed intents with the use tax and all agreed that this is not an issue that's going away.  Online sales will continue to increase; thereby, decreasing local revenues for efforts in the long term.  I think the council is leaning towards getting it back on the ballot for an April election, significantly changing the approach to further educate citizens on the importance of the use tax and what it does here to local community."
